Dr. Andreas M. Kist

Prof. Dr. Andreas M. Kist is Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence in Communication Disorders at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg’s Department of Artificial Intelligence in Biomedical Engineering in southern Germany.

He leads research on AI-powered diagnosis and therapy monitoring, multimodal data analysis, and the optimization and generalization of deep neural networks for clinical use. His group also develops embedded AI solutions, optimizing networks for microcontrollers and designing neural hardware accelerators, and pursues basic research in architecture optimization, robustness, and resource-efficient deep learning.
Andreas holds a PhD in systems neuroscience and has published extensively on topics such as laryngeal endoscopy, biomedical imaging, and neural architecture search.
